The Canadian Sniper Association is proud to stand alongside the Legacy Place Society in support of the CFB Wainwright Benevolence Fund. Funds raised are going directly to support 3 PPCLI soldiers and their families affected by the fire at CFB Wainwright.
The CSA will be making a donation to the fund. We’re also asking our members and community to help raise awareness and give what they can.

About Legacy Place Society
Legacy Place Society is an Alberta-based registered charity that offers confidential support to First Responders, Veterans, Military Personnel and their families. Its work focuses on building family resiliency in the face of the unique pressures that come with a life of service, including operational stress injuries, PTSD and the strain these place on home life.
Its programs include a confidential phone line, transitional housing, family camps, education bursaries and benevolence support. LPS sees itself as a bridge between those who serve, their workplaces and the families who stand behind them.
How the Fund Is Helping
Legacy Place Society set up the CFB Wainwright Benevolence Fund to provide financial help to Canadian Armed Forces members and families affected by the tragedy. The fund covers immediate and emerging needs through recovery, reunification, bereavement and transition. These needs can include travel and other costs families face during an already overwhelming time.
Applications are reviewed with the appropriate CAF and support personnel. Once approved and all required information is in, funding can usually be released within 72 hours.
Families: How to Access Support
Eligible families can access the CFB Wainwright Benevolence Fund by completing Legacy Place Society’s registration and approval process. Eligible applicants include:
- Injured CAF members
- Immediate family members
- Next of kin
- Dependents of affected members
