The Application Window has closed!

The CSA launched our inaugural rifle sweepstakes event at the tail end of 2024.

The offer: an exciting and unique opportunity to win a custom CSA CADEX CDX-33 PATRIOT LITE 338 LAPUA MAG 27” rifle with a Leupold scope and MDT rings, alongside other great prizes such as Arc’teryx rain gear, an Eberlestock backpack, Kestrel Weather Meter package, MagnetoSpeed V3 Chronograph, and KST 100 Shot Timer.

All proceeds from the sweepstakes will support the CSA’s mission, with entries available through donations or essay submissions, ensuring a broad base of participation and support.

The dates for the CSA Rifle Sweepstakes were 26 Dec 2024 – 01 March 2025. All information for the rifle sweepstakes can be found in the official rules and regulations below.

CSA Rifle Sweepstakes Rules

ELIGIBILITY:

To claim the prize (custom sniper rifle), the winner must possess a valid Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL) for non-restricted firearms. If the winner does not hold a valid PAL, they will be disqualified, and an alternate winner will be selected.

The Sweepstakes is only open to legal residents of Canada, excluding the Province of Quebec, who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry.

HOW THE SWEEPSTAKES WORK:

Main Sweepstakes:

Every participant, whether by donating or submitting an essay, is automatically entered into the Main Sweepstakes Draw for the custom sniper rifle. Everyone has an equal chance to win this prize.

Donor Incentive:

Only participants who make a donation will be entered into the Donor Incentive Draw for additional prizes (e.g., Arc’teryx Jacket, Kestrel Weather Meter). This is a separate draw, and only donors are eligible for these extra prizes.

HOW TO ENTER:

Step One:

Option 1: Send EMT to cdnsniperassoc@gmail.com. INCLUDE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS IN THE EMT MEMO. The CSA will email you your ticket as verification of payment.

The minimum donation amount is $50.
$50 = 3 entries
$100 = 7 entries
$250 = 20 entries
$500 = 40 entries
$1,000 = 100 entries

Option 2: Essay (No Purchase Necessary):

Participants can also enter without donating by submitting a 500-word essay that explains their interest in the sport of marksmanship or why they would like to win the custom sniper rifle.

To enter without donating, participants must:

Submit a 500-word essay to cdnsniperassoc@gmail.com.
Each essay earns 1 entry into the Sweepstakes (equivalent to the lowest donation tier: $50 = 3 entries).

Essay Requirements:

100% original and written by the entrant.
No AI-generated content or plagiarized work will be accepted.
We will use plagiarism detection software, QuillBot.com, to verify that the submission is original and not AI-generated or plagiarized.
Duplicate or substantially similar essays will be disqualified.

Entry Limitations:

One essay entry per person.
Each essay must include the participant’s full name, contact information.
Multiple or duplicate entries will be disqualified.

Step 2: Ticket Allocation:

Within 24 hours of confirming receipt of your EMT, a ticket will be emailed to the address the EMT came from. A confirmation email will be sent with the participant’s unique entry number; or

Once the essay has been confirmed for authenticity, a ticket and ticket number will be emailed to the essay submitter.

PRIZES:

Prize 1: One (1) custom sniper rifle, valued at $10,000.

Note:

Main Sweepstakes: All participants (donors or essay submitters) will be entered into the Main Sweepstakes Draw for the custom sniper rifle. Everyone has a chance to win this prize.
Donor Incentive: Only participants who donate will be entered into the Donor Incentive Draw for the additional prizes (e.g., Arc’teryx Jacket, Kestrel Weather Meter). This is a separate draw.
The prizes are non-transferable, and no substitutions will be allowed.

DRAW AND NOTIFICATION:

The single draw will take place on 1 March 2025, at 12:00 p.m. EST.
The selected winners will be contacted via email (based on the information provided during donation or essay submission).

To claim the prize, the winner must:

Respond within 48 hours of notification.
Main Sweepstakes Prize (custom sniper rifle): The winner must provide proof of a valid Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL) for non-restricted firearms to claim the prize.
Additional Prizes (e.g., Arc’teryx Jacket, Kestrel Weather Meter, etc.): Winners of these prizes do not require a PAL and can claim their prize without providing proof of firearm ownership.
Correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question.
Provide a valid mailing address (PO boxes are not acceptable).
Confirm the shipping details for prize delivery.

If the selected winner does not meet the eligibility requirements (including PAL verification) or does not respond within the 48-hour period, an alternate winner will be selected.

PRIZE RESTRICTIONS:

The sniper rifle prize is not redeemable for cash.
The winner must comply with all applicable firearms laws in their jurisdiction. If the winner does not have a valid PAL or is otherwise unable to legally possess the rifle, they will be disqualified, and an alternate winner will be selected.
All donations are final and non-refundable unless the contest is canceled due to unforeseen circumstances.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Winners must provide proof of a valid Canadian Possession and Acquisition License (PAL) or Possession Only License (POL) within 48 hours from the date of winner announcement to claim the prize.
If the winner cannot provide a valid PAL/POL within the specified 48-hour period, they may transfer the prize to a direct family member (child, spouse, sibling, parent, grandparent) who can provide the required documentation.
If neither the winner nor their family member can provide the valid license within the 48-hour period, the prize will be returned to the Canadian Sniper Association for future fundraising purposes.
In the event the winner is deceased at the time of prize announcement, the prize may be awarded to the winner’s estate or a representative of the estate, provided a valid PAL/POL is produced by the estate.
The firearm is classified as a non-restricted long-gun under the Criminal Code of Canada.
Retail Value: The total retail value of the prize is $10,000 (CDN).

ADDITIONAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

Multiple Donations: Participants may donate multiple times to earn additional entries. There is no maximum limit to the number of entries a participant can earn as long as they meet the respective donation thresholds.
If the ticket number selected for the Main Sweepstakes Draw (custom sniper rifle) does not have a valid Possession and Acquisition License (PAL) for non-restricted firearms, that ticket number will be disqualified from any additional prize draws. In this case, a new winner will be selected for the Main Sweepstakes Draw, and their ticket number will be eligible for the additional prizes (e.g., Arc’teryx Jacket, Kestrel Weather Meter, etc.) in the Donor Incentive Draw.
Prize for Main Sweepstakes: Participation in the Donor Incentive Draw does not exclude participants from entering the main sweepstakes. If a donor is selected as the winner of the main draw, they can still win the additional prizes in the Donor Incentive Draw.
Donation Confirmation: The Canadian Sniper Association will not be responsible for any lost or misdirected donations or entries. Participants should ensure they complete the donation process accurately.
Publicity: By participating in the Sweepstakes, the winner agrees to allow the Canadian Sniper Association to use their name, city, province, and image for promotional purposes without further compensation, unless prohibited by law.
